What replacement does, and what it does not

Thinning hair, alopecia, or total hair loss — coverage works at every stage, and the stage you are at decides what kind. A system covers. It does not regrow hair, and nobody here will tell you otherwise. That honesty is the reason the evaluation comes first: if something can be improved on your own scalp, that is worth knowing before you commit to coverage.

“Hair restoration” in Fort Collins usually means something else

Searched locally, hair restoration returns PRP, laser and “regenerative” treatments that aim to grow hair back. This is the other kind of restoration: restoring the appearance of a full head of hair, today, with a system built for your scalp. Both are legitimate. They are not the same thing, and knowing which one you are being sold is worth sixty minutes.

What the research on hair prostheses actually found is that the benefit tracks how convincing the piece is.

Across the studies gathered in one 2024 review — 40 people in South Korea, 388 in the UK, 49 in Japan — wearing a prosthesis raised measured scores for competence, adaptability and self-esteem, and 46% of the UK group reported a positive effect on quality of life. The review’s own conclusion is that satisfaction with how it looks is what drives the psychological benefit.

The barriers it names are the telling part: noticeability, stability, anxiety about being seen, and avoiding physical activity. That list is the entire reason a system is built to a scan of your own scalp rather than bought off a shelf.

Getting fitted is one appointment. Wearing one is the rest of it, and that part is where most people's questions actually are.

Scalp detox protocols

The scalp under a system still needs looking after. Cleansing and clearing buildup around the follicle openings keeps the skin healthy underneath, which is what protects the hair you still have and keeps the attachment comfortable.

Integration maintenance

A system is re-secured, cleaned and re-blended on a schedule so it keeps sitting the way it did on day one. How often depends on the attachment method and how fast your own hair grows.

Hair system cut, color and re-blend

Your own hair keeps growing and changing color; the system does not. Both get worked on in the same appointment so the join stays invisible.
